Ya no contraten delanteros extranjeros
El Mundial de Qatar nos ha dejado varias conclusiones en torno a la selección mexicana de futbol: el cambio generacional necesario, alguien nuevo tomando el timonel del combinado y, lo más preocupante, la falta de delanteros (de esos que la meten, tienen olfato de tiros a gol y como dirían algunos, son goleadores matones).
Al momento de escribir esta columna, el equipo dirigido por Gerardo Martino no se ha hecho presente en el marco rival (en los primeros dos partidos disputados por el Tri las llegadas a gol han sido escasas). La mayoría —me incluyó— nos volcamos contra el entrenador por los resultados poco favorecedores, pero en realidad tampoco hay mucho qué hacer si no se tiene materia prima.
Hoy les tengo la solución a este problema: la Liga MX debe dejar de comprar delanteros extranjeros e inmiscuirse, tomar acción y empezar a formar talento nacional. Estoy segura de que hay potencial en las fuerzas básicas; entonces, llegó el momento de pulirlas para desarrollar a los próximos delanteros del Tri.
Mi sugerencia tal vez parezca exagerada, pero, créanme, vivimos una situación desesperada. Las eliminatorias mundialistas ya dejaron en claro tanto el crecimiento a pasos agigantados de Estados Unidos y Canadá como el estancamiento de nuestra selección. Además, en Qatar la cosa no ha pintado nada bien porque contra Polonia y Argentina los mexicanos mostraron un esquema defensivo que por lo menos ante los europeos les dejó un empate.
Los últimos campeones de goleo de la liga local Nicolás Ibáñez, André-Pierre Gignac, Germán Berterame y Nicolás López son extranjeros y entiendo que para los clubes mexicanos tener delanteros de renombre es importante como parte de sus estrategias de marketing, pero si la selección nacional no se levanta, los patrocinadores comenzarán a migrar a las marcas de éxito.
¿Por qué los equipos (especialmente de Sudamérica) forman delanteros? Porque así pueden obtener ganancias financieras y deportivas. Más allá del posible fracaso del Tri, este pequeño hoyo debe servir tanto para tomar acción como para mejorar.
