Tijuana, Baja California, México a 02 de febrero del 2023.- Los Xolos de Tijuana anuncian el fichaje de Lucas Cavallini, llega procedente del Vancouver Whitecaps equipo de la MLS. El delantero de ascendencia argentina llega como agente libre y a reforzar la delantera de los fronterizos.

Con los de Vancouver disputó sesenta y tres encuentros en los cuales anotó un total de dieciocho goles, un promedio de un gol cada doscientos treinta y tres minutos. El atacante de treinta años ya estuvo en la Liga MX con el conjunto de Puebla, equipo donde anotó veintisiete goles y en 2019 emigró a la MLS.

Tijuana será el segundo equipo en México de Cavallini; dentro de sus logros se encuentra el campeonato de la Copa canadiense con los Whitecaps, es seleccionado canadiense, con los de la hoja de maple, disputó el campeonato mundial de la FIFA en 2022 en Qatar, donde no pudieron hacer mucho en su participación, pues el grupo era complicado y no lograron hacer ni un punto, siendo la segunda selección eliminada del torneo en fase de grupos solamente por detrás de los anfitriones.

Cavallini ha pasado por equipos como Peñarol, Nacional, Juventud, Puebla entre otros más. Dentro de las características del nuevo atacante de la jauría se encuentra el ser un jugador técnico, de área, fortaleza física y rematador.

El ‘’Toro’’ ya fue presentado con los Rojinegros y se encuentra ya a la disposición de Valiño, en espera de poder tener minutos con la playera rojinegra cuando visiten a Necaxa en duelo correspondiente a la Jornada 5 del Clausura 2023.
