Mérida, Yucatán, México a 28 de Agosto del 2022.- En la Jornada 11 se disputó el duelo más esperado de la jornada las Chivas que con un buen paso en sus últimos partidos el torneo recibían a los Pumas que vienen a la baja, ya que desde la llegada de la leyenda brasileña Dani Alves no consiguen una sola victoria.
Un partido de lo cual se jugaba mucho en juego, unas Chivas que vienen al alza con sus más recientes victorias ante la escuadra del Necaxa por un contundente cuatro a uno y a uno de los favoritos del torneo Monterrey con el marcador de uno por cero, mientras que en Pumas quería regresar a la senda del triunfo, no ganan desde la jornada 3 y buscaban quitarse esa racha negativa en sus partidos.

Dominaba la escuadra dirigida por Ricardo Cadena, al minuto 37 un tiro libre para Chivas el mejor jugador del primer tiempo; Alexis Vega se perfilaba para lanzar la bola, manda un tiro que sale desviado y se cuela en la portería y así poner en ventaja a los Rojiblancos por 2-1.
Se animaba el estadio, las gradas empezaban a corear “OLE” cada que Chivas transitaba el balón de un lado para otro, jugada que después de 22 toques Isaác “Conejito” Brizuela conduce por sector derecho manda un centro que desvía Gil Alcalá y llegaba el 3-1, en menos de dos minutos las Chivas metían dos goles era la locura en el Akron y así se terminaba el primer tiempo.
A punto de comenzar la segunda mitad, van saliendo los 22 jugadores e inician los últimos 45 minutos del encuentro, al minuto 56 llegó otra de peligro para el Rebaño, Brizuela que seguía muy participativo en el encuentro, conduce y se mete por sector derecho mete una diagonal retrasada y Ángel Záldivar mete un disparo de media vuelta que ataja el guardameta de la Universidad.
Se acaba el encuentro, Chivas fue amplio superior en el encuentro, ganando, goleando y gustando consiguen su 3 victoria consecutiva del torneo y así escalar de posiciones donde se ubica en la 7 posición. Su próximo partido será domingo a las 17:00 hrs visitando al Toluca.
Pumas mal y de malas con esta derrota llegan 9 derrotas en la campaña un torneo que han dejado mucho que desear y ubicándolos en la 17 posición. Su próximo partido sábado a las 19:00 hrs, le tocará regresar nuevamente a Guadalajara visitando al actual bicampeón del torneo Atlas.
